Payment transactions may be handled by third-party payment processors. Life Was Here does not require members to send complete payment-card numbers to us by email.

3. How We Use Information

We use information as reasonably necessary to provide and operate Life Was Here, maintain member accounts, preserve member content, provide requested features, process memberships, provide support, improve the service and protect the security of the platform.

We may also use information to detect fraud, abuse, malware, unauthorized access and violations of our Terms or Content Rules.

4. Your Stories and Memories

You retain your rights in the personal content you submit to Life Was Here. Uploading your content does not by itself transfer ownership of that content to Life Was Here.

We may process and store your content as reasonably necessary to provide the service and carry out the privacy and sharing choices you select.

Life Was Here provides supported privacy choices including Private, Family, Friends and Public.

Choosing a general privacy setting does not necessarily make every piece of content visible at that level. Supported memories and features may have additional privacy controls.

Only information you choose to make public is intended to appear publicly through supported public features such as a Legacy Profile.

6. Family and Friends

If you choose to share information with approved family members or friends, those people may be able to view information you have made available to them.

You should consider the sensitivity of information before sharing it with others.

7. Service Providers

Life Was Here may use trusted service providers to operate parts of the service, such as hosting, databases, payment processing, email delivery, security, malware scanning and other technical services.

These providers may process information as necessary to perform services for Life Was Here and subject to applicable contractual and legal requirements.

8. Security

We use technical and administrative measures intended to protect member accounts and information against unauthorized access, misuse and malicious activity.

No internet service or storage system can guarantee absolute security. Members should use strong passwords, protect their login credentials and maintain independent copies of irreplaceable memories.

Uploaded files may be processed by automated security systems designed to identify malware, suspicious files or prohibited material.

A file may be restricted or quarantined when necessary for security or policy review.

Life Was Here is not intended to be used by children to create independent accounts unless a future feature specifically permits such use under appropriate parental or guardian controls.

Adults may preserve appropriate family memories and photographs involving children as part of their family history, subject to our Terms and Content Rules.

16. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Life Was Here develops, legal requirements change or new features are introduced.

When required, we will provide appropriate notice of material changes. The Last Updated date identifies the version currently posted.
